Hoy quiero comentarte una superstición muy arraigada en México: abrir un paraguas bajo techo trae mala suerte. Cuando era niña se lo escuché muchas veces a mi abuelita, a sus hermanas e incluso a mi mamá. Se tiene la creencia de que si se abre el paraguas adentro de la casa (en cualquier lugar cerrado) se atraerá a la mala suerte.
Viéndolo objetivamente es incómodo y hasta podría ser peligroso abrir un paraguas bajo techo, así que esta superstición tiene un punto válido al evitar que hagamos algo que podría resultar inconveniente.

Today, I want to tell you about a very deeply rooted superstition in Mexico: opening an umbrella indoors brings bad luck. When I was a child, I heard it many times from my grandmother, her sisters, and even my mom. There is a belief that if you open an umbrella inside the house (or in any closed space), you’ll attract bad luck.
Objectively speaking, opening an umbrella indoors is uncomfortable and could even be dangerous, so this superstition makes a valid point by discouraging us from doing something that could be inconvenient.
