En esta ocasión quiero platicarte acerca de una costumbre que estaba presente antes, pero que yo no he visto recientemente: besar la mano en señal de respeto.
En México acostumbramos a saludarnos de beso o de abrazo, pero la costumbre de besar la mano a los mayores (padres, abuelos, tíos) también estuvo presente mucho tiempo. Incluso hay culturas, como la turca, en las que todavía es normal verlo.

Kissing the Hand as a Sign of Respect

How are you? It’s a pleasure to be here with you in another post.
This time, I want to talk to you about a custom that used to be common, but that I haven’t seen recently: kissing the hand as a sign of respect.
In Mexico, we usually greet each other with a kiss or a hug, but the custom of kissing the hands of elders (parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts) was also present for a long time. There are even cultures, like Turkish culture, where it’s still a common practice.
